This new column holds an integer for each row, indicating if the row is inside (1) or outside (0) the AST mask. It uses the <span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace\">poledit<\/span> command in the Starlink POLPACK package, as described in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaobservatory.org\/jcmt\/2020\/04\/adding-an-ast-mask-column-to-a-pol2-vector-catalogue\/\">earlier post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A possible use of this new column would be to select the vectors corresponding to the inside of the AST mask when viewing the vector map in <a href=\"http:\/\/starlink.eao.hawaii.edu\/docs\/sun214.htx\/sun214.html\">GAIA<\/a>.
