Publication inclusion policy

To qualify as a JCMT publication, a paper must base some or all of its conclusions on JCMT data.

Papers may be included in the JCMT publication list if the following criteria are met:

  • The article is in a refereed journal or conference proceeding
    and
  • The article includes new, previously unpublished JCMT data, or unpublished data from the JCMT archive, or data which have been re-reduced or re-analysed;
    or
  • The article is a theoretical or modelling paper which specifically models or interprets JCMT data, even if there are data from other telescopes being interpreted/modelled at the same time (e.g. fitting SEDs of already published multi-wavelength, multi-telescope data).

This policy is based on the principle of the JCMT as a provider of data rather than results. Therefore data can be counted more than once whereas derived results cannot.
