MALATANG: Mapping the Dense Molecular Gas in the Strongest Star-forming Galaxies HARP 390 m16al007

The Programs awarded time in 2017 – that were ranked as A programs

  • “A” ranking: programs the TAC determine to be of excellent scientific merit and therefore worthy of the best efforts by the Observatory to see it completed. As such, programs will be asked to meet the requirements of the Observatory for Large Programs, including open enrollment and project management
Large Program Instrument Hours awarded Code
HASHTAG: HARP and SCUBA-2 High-Resolution Terahertz Andromeda Galaxy Survey (A) Sc-2/HARP 276.3 m17bl005
BISTRO-2: an extension to the BISTRO program (A) Pol-2 224 m17bl011
STUDIES-SXDS: A second pointing for the SCUBA-2 Ultra Deep Imaging EAO survey (A) Sc-2 319 m17bl009
CHIMPS2: Resolving Star Formation in the Galactic Plane with HARP (A) HARP 403.9 m17bl004
NESS: The Nearby Evolved Star Survey (A) Sc-2/HARP/RxA 515 m17bl002

The Programs awarded time in 2017 – that were ranked as B programs

  • “B” ranking: programs the TAC recognize to have scientific value, but ranked lower than others programs requesting similar observing periods and weather. Given typical weather conditions and instrument availability, “B” programs have lower chances of completion and are considered to be a backup. The Observatory will make best efforts to obtain observations, but observing time and program completion are not guaranteed
